PROGRAM BACKGROUND
The San Xavier Cooperative Association (d.b.a. San Xavier Cooperative Farm), established in 1971, is a 100% Native American owned and controlled cooperative legally incorporated in Tohono O’odham Nation.
In this program, the San Xavier Cooperative Farm will provide education, outreach, and technical assistance to local Native communities and producers, and ultimately 1) foster the business of farming and livestock among Native people, and 2) improve the education, social conditions, and economic welfare in the Tohono O'odham Nation and the surrounding rural areas.
