Work closely with USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) to develop and deliver wraparound outreach and technical assistance for Native American and Veteran farmers and ranchers in Arizona to increase their access to land, capital, and markets.
Obj. 1: Improve land access by providing wraparound and customized technical assistance (TA), training, and consultation on business planning/development, risk analysis, tax issues, and legal issues.
Obj. 2: Improve land access by providing professional architectural and engineering services on agricultural land planning, survey, irrigation planning/design, soil/water testing, environmental assessment, and cultural resources clearance.
Obj. 3: Improve the awareness and understanding of USDA programs and services among Native and Veteran producers in Arizona by providing in-community educational workshops and trainings.
Obj. 4: Improve the equitable participation of Native and Veteran producers in full range of USDA programs and services by providing customized direct technical assistance and support to address the barriers faced by individual underserved producer.
Obj. 5: Improve the standardization and transparency of USDA programs and services by building/strengthening work relationships between USDA agencies and Native and Veteran producers.
Obj. 6: Increase rural food hubs/markets development by providing wraparound and customized technical assistance, training, and consultation on business planning/development, risk analysis, tax issues, and legal issues.
Obj. 7: Increase rural food hubs/markets development by providing professional architectural and engineering services on facility planning, site survey, environmental assessment, cultural resources clearance, and utility/facility design, etc.
Obj. 8: Provide adequate program outreach through program web site, social media, and local radio and/or newspapers, etc.
Obj. 9: Improve economic viability/resiliency of small Native or Veteran owned agriculture enterprises.
Obj. 10: Provide effective program management and meeting USDA reporting requirement successfully.
