This program aims to promote economic development and create jobs and businesses on San Carlos Apache Reservation through investments to local infrastructure. This goal will be met through the investment of local infrastructure and the creation of new business opportunities.
To achieve the program's overarching goal, multiple objectives were created.
Obj. #1: Engage local stakeholders to identify priorities in developing a multi-use sports facility in the heart of the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation.
Obj. #2: Invest in local infrastructure to create a facility that can foster the development of various small businesses in sports-related activities, such as coaching, youth programs, trainings, etc., as well as create market opportunities for other vendors through community events.
Obj. #3: Create/save jobs and business opportunities and stimulate the development of small and emerging Native American businesses in historically underserved San Carlos Apache communities by providing job/career training and business/technical assistance.
Obj. #4: Build strong community and encourage the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits and importance of physical activity through public education and community outreach.
Obj. #5: Create spaces that allow for the celebration of Apache culture and identity and help youth thrive in the face of adverse social conditions.
